Summary
A leading Indian two-wheeler OEM — one of the largest in the country by sales volume — set out to differentiate in one of the world's most technology-conscious markets, bringing up to 24 intelligent features, from geo-fencing and remote diagnostics to speed limitation, remote immobilization and over-the-air updates, to both its electric (EV) and combustion (ICE) motorcycles, as well as a premium partner brand it produces and distributes.
Each feature relied on two communication channels working in concert: the rider's phone talking to the motorcycle over Bluetooth Low Energy, and the motorcycle staying permanently connected to the OEM's cloud over 4G cellular.

SDKs as a common language
OTCEngineering's software libraries — the SDKs — are integrated into both the instrument cluster and the mobile apps (iOS and Android). Acting like drivers, they let three different devices speak the same language, making the target features straightforward to implement where no market standard exists.

The cloud to OEM's ERP (SAP) and CRM (Salesforce + Siebel) was connected, so motorcycles register to the cloud during production and end users are identified across the entire system.
