It combines embedded hardware (TCUs, OBD devices), connectivity protocols (MQTT, 4G/5G), and cloud infrastructure to enable remote diagnostics, OTA updates, fleet monitoring, and data-driven services for OEMs, fleet operators, and end users.
A connected car PaaS (Platform as a Service) provides OEMs with a ready-made infrastructure to connect vehicles to the cloud, manage device fleets, deliver OTA updates, and build digital services — without building the platform from scratch. Vehicle IoT (vIoT) refers to the application of IoT principles to connected vehicle systems — embedding sensors, gateways, and communication modules into vehicles to stream operational data to cloud platforms. Unlike generic IoT, vIoT must meet automotive-grade standards (ISO 26262, UNECE R156) and handle the unique constraints of in-vehicle networks such as CAN bus and AUTOSAR middleware.
